'Rubicon' blog mission statement

Mission statement

Keep up to date on the big name journalism lectures and conferences. Find out which new journalism books are worth reading. What’s happening with Britain’s repressive libel laws? Which university’s journalism degrees are the best? Who is doing important media research?

As a journalist and lecturer who is ever more interested in the relationship between journalism practice and theory, I’ve not found a website or blog to keep me up to date with events and discussions.

Roy Greenslade’s blog is great on the media generally, as are journalism.co.uk and Press Gazette. Charlie Beckett’s blog is always stimulating. Paul Bradshaw’s online journalism blog is essential.

There are lots of others. But no one is regularly blogging about the hinterland between journalism and journalism education.
So, I have decided to have a go.

On the home page of
www.paullashmar.com I’ve set up:
The ‘Rubicon’ blog – between journalism practice and theory

Have a look.
At first it will be a bit of notice board but I’m hoping to develop the discursive.

It will be open to contribution and comment.  Just sign up.
